Aesthetic Altercations Show

Refined curatorial tastes rule, and quarter-of-a-million dollar installations mesmerize, in an art world saturated with hipster relativity. Many are left unable to respond to the discrete object. If artists continue to traffic in objects and appearances, it may be important to know what these objects and appearances do to people. Aesthetic Altercations is the culmination of a four month discussion about the efficacy of particular art forms. The featured artists invite you to drop the gloves of objectivity, enter the subjective, and see if their works do anything for you.

Aesthetic Altercations, a group exhibition featuring the work of the University of Delaware’s Masters of Fine Arts program, will be on view at the Brooklyn Artists Gym from January 19th through the 24th. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 19th from 6-9pm. Directions, and additional information about the artists, can be found at the Brooklyn Artists Gym website: www.brooklynartistsgym.com.
